From Silicon Valley’s tech millionaires to the not so ‘dis’ abled wheelchair bound adventure seekers or from the local homeless shelter patrons to the clean shaven Sunday faithful sitting in pews, everyone is invited into our community because we firmly believe in the notion that unity happens through diversity & not in spite of it. …and here at Worries to the Wind, the common-unifier of our community is the sport of sailing!!

Our Beginnings: The Salty Sheep days Days

Worries to the Wind is the natural evolution of Salty Sheep ministries which first set sail in 2017 aboard a derelict bright teal sailboat with little more than a vision & a community that didn’t like being enclosed by stained glass widows. 5 years later and that tipsy teal sailboat has been evolved into a 38 ft ultra-accessible catamaran representing physical, spiritual and social inclusivity rooted in the proverbial but often overlooked POWER of PLAY!

After years spent exploring the Bay, soaking up countless sunsets, and cultivating authentic & intentional relationship with one another; a few friendly humpbacks; & salty southerly breeze our program took a leap off faith in purchasing our current Catamaran that has been negating the ‘dis’ prefix that society uses to limit & label the many unique abilities of our truly special friends!

Though we now go by Worries to the Wind, we will be continuing to offer our popular free weekly sails to the community, but we have further come to see our vessel as providing a uniquely safe but much more engaging place to host various support groups (mental health, 12-step, social), supportive living centers addressing things like senior isolation or dementia, MFT-lead experiential therapy groups such as those offered by our partners at https://www.livingevolution.org, hospice programs and spiritual/philosophical conversations alongside our many ecumenical partners who often spend their Sundays behind stained glass instead of amidst white caps.

From calm harbor cruises to corporate team-building sessions or celebrations of life services to celebrating life alongside our fellow sailors, our accessible outings are great for all ages, abilities, incomes, orientations, faith traditions and even species!
